A student who is not currently registered at Bethel, and has an account balance more than 60 days past due, may be transferred to Educational Computer Systems, Inc. (ECSI). ECSI is a billing service that offers payment plans for students not currently registered at Bethel University. Accounts sent to ECSI are automatically reported to the Credit Bureau. No student who has an account balance with ECSI will be considered for re-admittance. Official transcripts and diplomas will not be released until the balance has been paid in full. A late fee of 6% annual percentage rate will be assessed on the unpaid balance.
In the event Bethel University has to incur any expense in collecting on a student account, the student agrees to pay all of Bethel's costs for collection. This includes, but not limited to, a collection agency fee and/or attorney's fees at the rate of 25-40 percent depending on the actions necessary to collect the debt.
