Visitation by the opposite sex is allowed in the residence halls; however, to preserve individual rights and privacy, visitation is limited to certain hours of the week. Visitation is by invitation only, and all students and guests must leave by the designated time or when you are asked to leave by your host. It is each student’s responsibility to monitor the time and abide by the visitation policy. Violation of visitation policy may result in fines and disciplinary action.

Students should be mindful of the impact visitors have on their roommates. Residence Life staff may intervene if incidents occur where visitors negatively impact the roommate/floor/suite relationships.

Approved visitation hours are as follows:

Bodien, Edgren, Getsch, and Nelson*:

  • Monday–Thursday 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.

  • Friday, 4 p.m. - midnight

  • Saturday, 12 p.m. - midnight

  • Sunday, 12 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Arden Village, Lissner, Heritage, and North Village:

  • Sunday–Saturday, 12 p.m. - 1 a.m.

Bethel does not have a curfew or specific hours when students must be in their residence halls at night. The Residence Life staff does encourage students to incorporate healthy amounts of sleep into their schedule as part of an effort toward proper well-being.

*Changes to visitation hours will be made during various holidays and University celebrations at the discretion of the Residence Life Office. These changes will be posted in your residence hall.
