Summary

Users have the ability to install Bethel supported software by themselves, via either Software Center (Windows computers) or Managed Software Center (Mac OS computers).  See instructions below.

Any software that is not currently available in the software list can be requested through the Software Request Form. A Jira case will be created and you will be notified when the software is available.

PC:

  1. Use the Cortana search in the lower left hand corner of your screen to search for Software Center, or click the icon on your desktop. If you cannot find Software Center, it has most likely not been installed yet.

2. Select the application that you would like to install

3. Click Install (note: some applications come pre-installed on your computer and will not have the option to install/uninstall)

If IT has recently added the software to Software Center for you, a manual update may be required to see the new software.

  1. On a system that is running SCCM Software Center, it is sometimes necessary to refresh the software available on the list. To do this follow the steps below.
  2. On the system that is running the SCCM Client, open the Control Panel.
  3. Locate the Configuration Manager Icon and open by clicking on it.
  4. On the Configuration Manager Properties box, click on the Actions tab.
  5. Click on Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle and click on "Run Now."
  6. Click on Application Deployment Evaluation Cycle and click on "Run Now."
  7. The software in Software Center should update shortly.  Pressing on F5 on the keyboard while in the Software Center window will refresh it.
