Change Busy or No Answer Greetings for an individual desk phone number

If the phone number you want the greeting changed for is an individual number, most likely being your personal Bethel-provided phone number, the below instructions will guide you through setting a new greeting message.

  • Log into the voice portal by pressing the mail envelope button or by pressing *86 on the keypad.
    • If you are away from your desk phone, you can also access your voice portal from any phone by dialing your direct number and waiting for the voicemail greeting. Once you hear your greeting press the * key and continue with the next step in the below instructions.
  • You will be asked to enter your voicemail password, then press the # key.
  • Press 1 to access your voicemail inbox. The system will play a recording that starts with "Welcome to your ComPilot voice portal".
  • Press 2 to change the Busy Greeting (This is the greeting that plays when you are currently on the phone and another call comes in).
    • Press 1 to record a new greeting.

Change Busy or No Answer Greetings for a group or departmental phone number

If the phone number you want the greeting changed for is an auto attendant, call center, or hunt group, where the phone number that runs the greeting message is not tied to one specific desk phone, it is recommended to send a new greeting as a recorded audio file to the ITS Help Desk. This can be performed by following the directions in this Confluence article.
